OUR ROOTS

A lasting passion.

What Jean-Marie Progin built with passion in Biel still shapes our house today: a dedication to quality, the joy of craftsmanship and a love of fine details.

THE STORY OF OUR HOUSE

From the beginning
to today.

1961

The beginnings in Biel

Jean-Marie Progin establishes Confiserie Progin. Quality chocolate and careful craftsmanship are at the heart of the business from the start.

THE PINK HOUSE

A home on Bahnhofstrasse

As demand grows, the confiserie moves to Bahnhofstrasse 29. The building, dating from 1888, is renovated and becomes known as the « sugar house » with its distinctive pink façade.

FAMILY CRAFTSMANSHIP

A shared passion

Alain and Nicolas Progin join the family business. They bring fresh ideas, expand the selection and continue its traditional craftsmanship.

JANUARY 2024

A chapter comes to a close

After 63 years, the confiserie closes in January 2024. Jean-Marie Progin retires at the age of 91.

2024

The story continues

Rolf Schädeli takes over the boutique and production. The boutique is refurbished and the product design modernised. Alain Progin remains part of the team, carrying the tradition forward.

2026

65 years of PROGIN

An anniversary celebrating the history of the house, with a look towards everything still to come.

CONTINUING THE STORY TOGETHER

Respect for yesterday.
Looking forward to tomorrow.

“Tradition gives us roots. Curiosity takes us forward.”

Since 2024, Rolf Schädeli has led PROGIN’s boutique and production. With deep respect for Jean-Marie Progin’s legacy, fresh ideas and an attentive ear for your wishes.

WHAT MATTERS TO US

Taking time
to make it right.

Pralines, truffles, chocolate bars, cakes, pâtisserie and seasonal specialities: every step matters in our manufacture. Rolling, tempering and refining until texture and taste are just right.

That patience makes the difference. For a delicate melt, a gentle crunch and a flavour that stays with you.
